Shinsuke Sato's CGI animated feature film Oblivion Island: Haruka and the Magic Mirror was greeted with a Special Mention by the jury of the AniMovie section in the 18th Stuttgart Festival of Animated Film, held in Stuttgart, Germany from May 3 to 8, 2011. Oblivion Island was one of the ten animated feature films selected in the festival's competition.

With audiences totalling 50,000, 1,450 accredited professional visitors and 500 films in its latest editions, the Stuttgart Festival of Animated Film is one of the most important and largest event for animated film. Since its launch in 1982, the Festival has continued to support artistic animated film, young talented filmmakers and the animated film industry.
