Tokyo Marble Chocolate American Premiere at the Festival du Nouveau Cinema

October 6, 2008

Naoyoshi Shiotani's bittersweet romantic comedy Tokyo Marble Chocolate (2007), produced by Production I.G in collaboration with BMG Japan, is having its North American premiere at the 37th Festival du Nouveau Cinema, held in Montreal, Canada from October 8 to 19, 2008.

Shiotani's movie has been officially selected for Temps O (Time Zero), the festival section that brings together the hottest names in genre cinema and animated films.

Tokyo Marble Chocolate is Naoyoshi Shiotani's directorial debut, and it is Production I.G's 20th Anniversary Special Project. Last May, the film was awarded with the Grand Prize at SICAF 2008.

Started in 1971 as the first international film festival in Canada, the Festival du Nouveau Cinema de Montreal (FNC) is devoted to the dissemination and development of emerging trends in cinema and new media. It is a forum for audiences to discover original new works, particularly in cinema d'auteur and digital creation. The Festival's strength lies above all in the quality of its programming, which has evolved in step with trends in cinema and new media. Thanks to its constant evolution in response to changes in cinema and new media, the FNC has earned an international reputation for remaining on the leading edge of high-tech exhibition.
