Air date: April 14, 2007
Balsa escapes from the blazing palace with Chagum. They take shelter for a while in the house of Toya and Saya, the errand-people. Meanwhile, there is someone staring at the Second Palace in flames. This is Shuga, a gifted young astrology scholar.
As he was also the tutor for Chagum, he visits the Master Star Reader who is the highest sage of the country and requests the master to stop the assassination plot against Chagum. The Master, nevertheless, tells him the stories behind the politics in Yogo and instructs him to follow the path to duly succeed him as Master Star Reader. He also tells Shuga that if Prince Chagum is really possessed by the Water Spirit, it was only the Emperor who could crush it. That means bringing Chagum back to the Palace alive and letting his father the Mikado kill his son with his own hands. The Mikado's secret Hunters sent by the master are approaching ever closer to Balsa and Chagum.
